We're looking for a Director, Applied AI Transformation – Telecommunications (m/f/d) to join our team across Europe in a hybrid or remote working mode. In this role, you will lead enterprise‐scale AI and agentic transformation programs for global telecommunications organizations, acting as a trusted advisor to C‐suite executives and enabling strategies that drive measurable business impact across highly competitive and regulated markets.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute applied AI and agentic transformation strategies for telecommunications clients.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives on AI adoption and digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead presales activities including opportunity shaping and business case creation for AI solutions.
- Facilitate ideation workshops converting complex telecom challenges into actionable AI use cases.
- Drive enterprise AI adoption by identifying high‐value opportunities and leading change management efforts.
- Lead cross‐functional teams building and scaling multi‐agent and AI‐driven solutions.
- Maintain deep expertise in large language models, orchestration platforms and applied AI ecosystems across major AI labs and hyperscalers.
- Ensure AI solutions comply with regulations and meet scalability, security and reliability standards.
- Mentor client and EPAM teams to expand internal AI capabilities and improve delivery impact.
- Monitor industry trends and champion EPAM’s thought leadership in applied AI for telecommunications.
Requirements
- 10+ years in telecommunications with leadership experience in business transformation or technology innovation.
- Strong understanding of telecom regulations, customer lifecycle, network operations and cost‐to‐serve economics.
- Proven track record advising senior executives and implementing AI adoption at enterprise scale.
- Hands‐on applied AI experience including large language models, multi‐agent orchestration and RAG frameworks.
- Familiarity with leading AI labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft AI) and hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Expertise in presales and business case creation to originate and secure AI engagements.
- Experience managing global, cross‐functional teams in complex regulated industries.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at executive level.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business; MBA preferred.
- Ability to travel as required.
