Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results‐oriented Director of Business Development with pronounced experience selling technology to the commercial pharmaceutical industry. Reporting directly to the CEO/CRO, the ideal candidate will drive sales growth of Patient Services solutions, use consultative selling skills, understand commercial infrastructure, and effectively position product features and value to diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Execution: Generate, pursue, and close opportunities focusing on decision‐makers in patient services, market access, brand, and marketing.
  • Sales Presentations: Conduct engaging presentations and product demonstrations highlighting benefits and value for specific functions.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross‐functional teams, especially marketing, to develop brand‐specific presentations and proposals.
  • Data Maven: Serve as a data denizen, updating, leveraging, and evolving our CRM system (HubSpot) and related AI tools.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a robust understanding of solutions and how they impact client needs and metrics.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to convey ideas clearly to executives, clients, and team members.
  • Consultative Selling: Creatively sell complex solutions by navigating sophisticated sales journeys and pivoting pitches based on objections.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional networking skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Market Knowledge: In‐depth understanding of industry dynamics, agencies, and competitive landscape; conduct market research to drive business decisions.

Negotiating & Deal Making

  • Gets Stuff Done: Plan, prioritize, pivot, manage projects, make decisions, update, and delegate to meet defined timelines; leverage AI critically.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of HCP‐related technology providers, market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Successful sales experience servicing commercial pharmaceutical needs; experience in management consulting is also considered.
  • Available for in‐person meetings.
  • Proficient and committed to using CRM systems (HubSpot).
  • Generative AI exposure required; Agentic AI exposure a plus.
  • Experience working with agencies is a plus.
  • Startup/early‐stage experience a big plus.
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree; MBA is a plus.

Compensation

Base: $150‐175k range, depending on experience and location.

Bonus: $100k target based on company and personal performance.
