Join J&T Express as an Equipment Maintenance Specialist at our location in Nieder-Olm, near Mainz. In this hands-on technical role, you will ensure the reliability and availability of our automated warehouse and sorting equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
You will work with a wide range of industrial equipment, including conveyor systems, cross-belt sorters, narrow-belt systems, transfer equipment, motors, frequency converters, sensors, PLC/SPS systems, and forklifts.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on conveyor lines, sorting equipment, narrow-belt systems, and related warehouse technology
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults involving motors, frequency converters, sensors, and other technical components
- Read electrical circuit diagrams and perform basic fault diagnosis and parameter adjustments on Siemens S7-1200/1500 PLC/SPS systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and fault reports while supporting annual DGUV inspections and required technical documentation
- Coordinate with external service providers during equipment modifications, electrical work, and fire protection measures on site
- Perform ongoing maintenance of forklifts and support required annual inspections
- Respond quickly to technical breakdowns to minimize operational downtime within a three-shift environment, including night shifts, weekends, and on-call periods as required
Your Profile
- Completed vocational training, ideally as a Mechatronics Technician (Mechatroniker), Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering (Elektroniker für Betriebstechnik), Industrial Mechanic (Industriemechaniker), or a comparable technical qualification
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the maintenance and repair of conveyor, sorting, or comparable automated industrial systems
- Qualification as an Elektrofachkraft (EFK) with authorization to work on industrial electrical systems
- DGUV basic occupational health and safety training and a valid forklift license according to DGUV requirements
- Practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting as well as the ability to read electrical circuit diagrams and perform basic PLC/SPS diagnostics; experience with Siemens S7-1200/1500 is an advantage
- German or English at B2 level or above, with the ability to understand German operating instructions, safety regulations, and technical documentation
- Willingness to work in a three-shift system, including early, late, and night shifts, weekend rotations, and occasional on-call duty
- Hands-on, reliable, and solution-oriented working style, with the physical ability to work at height, perform maintenance within technical equipment, and handle spare parts and components
