We are currently managing the recruitment process for an important international client involved in a major industrial construction project in Germany.
We are looking for an experienced HSE Lifting Coordinator to join the site HSE team and take responsibility for the safe planning, coordination, supervision and documentation of lifting and rigging activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate lifting plans and Critical Lift Plans submitted by subcontractors.
- Classify lifting operations according to the applicable HSE criteria (standard, heavy, critical/special).
- Coordinate lifting schedules and sequencing with Construction teams, subcontractors and Site HSE Management.
- Attend and support pre-lift safety meetings for critical and special lifting operations.
- Verify the qualifications and competency certificates of riggers, signalers and crane operators.
- Inspect cranes, slings, shackles, hooks, chains and other lifting equipment and maintain relevant registers.
- Monitor compliance with load charts, wind-speed limitations and exclusion/barricaded zones.
- Control HSE requirements for man-basket / crane-suspended personnel platform operations, including permits and proof testing.
- Verify additional controls and approvals for night-time lifting operations and lifts near energized power lines.
- Follow up on lifting-related findings, near misses and incidents and monitor corrective action closure.
- Support HSE audits, inspections and management reviews related to lifting and rigging.
- Maintain accurate documentation and traceability of lifting operations.
- Control HSE Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements for lifting activities.
Requirements
- HSE / Occupational Risk Prevention certification, ideally with a specialization in lifting and rigging operations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising HSE aspects of lifting and rigging operations within industrial construction, oil & gas, LNG or similar projects.
- Solid knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques and lifting equipment standards under German/EU regulations.
- Strong knowledge of critical lift planning and risk assessment methodologies.
- Certified rigging/lifting supervisor training is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of German regulations and requirements applicable to riggers and lifting operations.
- Good command of English.
- German language skills are an advantage.
- Strong field presence, safety-driven mindset and excellent communication skills.
