(Senior) Software Engineer – Platform Development

## Job Description You will contribute to the development and enhancement of our company-wide software platform, playing a key role in implementing a state-of-the-art technology platformfor software development in our medical GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)and RUO (Research Use Only) instruments. In this role, you will take on significant technical responsibilities and act as a key point of contact for collaboration with various teams and stakeholders. - You will contribute to the platform roadmap and its implementation, collaborating with project and program managers, software architects, feature owners, requirements engineers, UX/UI designers, developers, and testers. You will drive the platform’s technical advancement and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery. - You will continuously advance the software platform by developing innovative solutions used across software and instrument products while driving our transition to an AI-first engineering and development approach. - You will write clean, maintainable, and scalable code in C++ and share your knowledge with the team. - You will collaborate closely with other departments in our interdisciplinary and international environment, including other software development teams, biologists, IT, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Service, and Marketing. - You will support communication with external stakeholders, contribute to critical business decisions, and provide input and ideas to shape the future of our global software development organization. ## Qualifications - You have completed a degree in computer science (Bachelor or Master) or a comparable qualification, with several years of professional experience in C++/Qt (back-end and UI), focusing on clean coding and advanced features such as multithreading and UI development. - You are an advocate of the AI-first mindset, have gained initial hands-on experience with AI-powered software development, and are open to exploring the entire AI maturity spectrum – from chatbots via coding assistants and agentic coding up to agentic workflows. - You have solid experience in developing software application portfolios and have ideally worked on platforms that are used across multiple software products. ‘Domain-Driven Design’ is not a foreign concept to you; rather, it is an integral part of your understanding of Clean Architecture. - You are familiar with classical software architecture, and you are enthusiastic about C++ as the primary language for our tools; you have in-depth knowledge of agile software development. - Familiarity with Linux environments and Qt-based UI architecture and development is welcome. - Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, as well as in software development within a regulated environment – for example, in compliance with the medical standard (IEC 62304) – would be a plus. ## What we offer - Purpose-driven technology: Develop software that supports innovative medical treatments and advances the digital interaction of medical devices and systems. - AI-enabled engineering: Integrate AI meaningfully into your daily work and help shape how modern development tools are used within the team. - Room for creativity: Contribute your own ideas and pursue smart, technically sustainable solutions instead of simply implementing predefined specifications. - Flexible work: Organize your working time flexibly while remaining closely connected to the team and our software products. - Continuous learning: Expand your expertise through collaboration in international teams and development opportunities offered by our in-house Miltenyi University.
