Agile Coach - SAFe Lead

CACI InternationalDeutschland
Gehalt: Von 91.895,00 € bis 202.064,00 €

The Opportunity

CACI is seeking an experienced Agile Coach to lead and mature an Agile Release Train operating in parallel within a fast‐paced system modernization program. This role is responsible for establishing Agile and SAFe standards, ensuring delivery consistency, monitoring performance metrics, and maturing Agile capabilities across product teams.

Unlike traditional Agile coaching roles, this position requires hands‐on experience with system and data‐engineering modernization patterns. This hybrid skill set enables the coach to recognize and navigate the technical interdependencies that influence PI planning, backlog prioritization, risk identification, and overall delivery flow.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and uphold Agile and SAFe delivery standards, ensuring alignment with enterprise Agile maturity models.
  • Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Data Engineering teams, and Technical Leads on Agile practices, ceremonies, flow of value, and execution discipline.
  • Lead preparation, facilitation, and follow‐up for PI Planning across multiple parallel Agile teams.
  • Facilitate cross‐team synchronization ceremonies, including Scrum of Scrums, ART Sync, Inspect & Adapt, and solution‐level retrospectives.
  • Mentor teams on flow optimization, cycle‐time reduction, WIP limits, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Assess current Agile practices, identify maturity gaps, and drive adoption of best practices, KPIs, and consistent delivery patterns.
  • Build and maintain performance dashboards, flow metrics, and quality KPIs across product teams.
  • Monitor and communicate velocity, predictability, burnup/burndown trends, defect rates, and levels of unplanned work.
  • Identify and track modernization‐specific risks, particularly those tied to data migration, integration points, and infrastructure dependencies.
  • Present Agile performance insights, risks, and improvement recommendations to customers and during program reviews.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Architecture teams to understand dependencies across replication, migration, integration, and sequencing activities.
  • Ensure teams understand sequencing constraints related to schema conversion, data mapping, and incremental rollout strategies.
  • Support backlog refinement by prioritizing work related to data modeling, data dependencies, transformations, and API development.
  • Strengthen communication pathways between product teams, enterprise services, architecture, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Enforce consistent working agreements, Definition of Ready (DoR), Definition of Done (DoD), and acceptance criteria across teams.
  • Support program‐level risk identification, mitigation planning, and dependency management across the ART.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience supporting or coaching Agile software development teams in iterative delivery environments.
  • 3+ years coaching or coordinating multiple Agile teams operating in parallel within SAFe or similar scaled‐Agile frameworks.
  • Must have a Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong command of Agile metrics, Lean flow principles, backlog refinement practices, and release management processes.
  • Ability to translate complex technical modernization dependencies into actionable Agile planning constructs (stories, features, enablers, and spikes).
  • Hands‐on experience in large‐scale modernization, cloud migration, or data‐engineering‐driven delivery environments.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder‐engagement, and coaching skills.

Desired:

  • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), PSM II, CSM, PMI‐ACP, or similar advanced Agile certification.
  • Experience supporting government or DoW modernization initiatives, particularly in mission‐critical / high‐use systems.
