The primary duties in this pivotal role will include:

• Executive Operations and Administration: Direct the full range of NE Headquarters Federal operations, including policy implementation, strategic planning, budget formulation, human resources, and information technology to support the mission of the Assistant Secretary.
• Strategic Policy and Advocacy: Provide an executive perspective on domestic and international nuclear policy, representing DOE leadership in high- level discussions with Congress, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, industry leaders, and foreign governments.
• Energy Sector Security and Resilience: Lead Department‐wide efforts to strengthen the security and resilience of the energy sector against emerging threats, enhancing response, recovery, and shared situational awareness.
• Program Management and Oversight: Act as the primary Headquarters point of contact for Management and Operating (M&O) contractor performance assessments, fee determinations, and Price & Anderson Enforcement actions to ensure operational efficiency.
• Organizational Leadership and Integration: Provide technical and administrative supervision over subordinate organizations, direct the recruitment of senior managers and technical experts, and align critical programmatic functions with the agency's overall strategic goals.
