Consulting Director, Sustainable Product and Supply Chain (m/w/d) (Central Europe - Germany Focus)

Overview

At ERM, sustainability is the core of our consulting practice, helping leading organisations transform their businesses for a more sustainable future. We are looking for an experienced Consulting Director to lead the growth of our Sustainable Product & Supply Chain practice across Germany and Central Europe.

Responsibilities

• Own and expand a strategic portfolio of sustainability consulting opportunities across Germany and Central Europe.
• Build and convert a strong pipeline of opportunities; develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders in procurement, supply chain, operations, R&D, sustainability, and finance.
• Create and execute go‐to‐market strategies focused on Scope 3 decarbonization and sustainable packaging solutions.
• Partner with ERM account leaders to grow strategic client relationships, particularly in manufacturing.
• Develop compelling proposals and value‐driven business cases that translate client challenges into actionable solutions.
• Represent ERM at industry conferences, client forums, and thought‐leadership events; develop case studies and market insights for German and Central European clients.
• Collaborate with alliance partners and marketing teams to enhance brand visibility and generate demand.
• Enhance and evolve ERM’s integrated consulting propositions; drive digital enablement and data‐led delivery approaches.
• Collaborate with technical experts and delivery teams to develop scalable solutions; mentor and develop consultants across the region.
• Lead major consulting engagements by overseeing large, complex sustainability transformation programmes, managing project governance, quality, commercial performance, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure every engagement creates measurable value and lasting impact for clients.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of winning and delivering consulting engagements in sustainability, supply chain transformation, packaging, or related fields.
• Established client network in Germany; broader Central European connections highly desirable.
• Experience leading large‐scale, complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders and business functions.
• Deep expertise in Scope 3 decarbonization, supply‐chain transformation, and sustainable packaging.

• Strong business development and commercial leadership skills, including pipeline management, proposal development, pricing strategy, and negotiation.
• Credibility and executive presence to engage senior decision‐makers and C‐suite stakeholders.
• Ability to translate technical sustainability challenges into compelling, board‐level business narratives.
• Collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring, developing talent, and building high‐performing teams.
• Strategic mindset combined with the ability to deliver practical, real‐world results.

Location & Languages

Based in Germany with flexibility to travel across Central Europe and occasionally the wider EMEA region. Fluent German and English (written and spoken) strongly preferred.
