About the Department:

Sales is responsible for all sales-related activities from early engagement with our customers, bidding and negotiation until hand‐over to Construction upon a fruitful closure of a contract. The NCE sales team consists of a diverse group of skilled and proficient employees covering NCE markets, making it one of the largest and most important Sales regions in Vestas.

The Sales Director (m/f/d) will be positioned in the Central European Sales organization and be responsible for the Germany North sales region. The position is based in our Hamburg office securing the growth of the Northern German market. This person will lead a sales team of highly skilled and motivated colleagues.

Your responsibilities – here's where you can get involved!

  • You are the leader of our fantastic Germany North Sales team.
  • You are responsible for achieving your customer satisfaction, business development, order intake and efficiency targets on multiple KPI dimensions.
  • You are overall responsible for implementing Vestas' strategy by handling our German sales portfolio from customers in North Germany.
  • You guide, develop, and grow (Senior) Sales Managers and Commercial Engineers.
  • You define and implement the Vestas strategy for your region in the context of our global and regional strategy house.
  • You build relationships and strategic partnerships with our most important and senior customers in the region.
  • You act as escalation point to support our Sales Managers.
  • You present large key deals to our Executive Management.
  • Together with our Sales Directors from the other sub‐regions, you are part of our Sales Central Management team.
  • As a Commercial Leader at Vestas, you manage cross‐regional and cross‐functional strategies and align priorities with other senior leaders at Vestas.

Your profile – what makes you a great fit!

  • You have 10+ years of professional experience and 5+ years experience in commercial and leadership roles, ideally within renewable energy, CAPEX-intensive B2B industries, consulting, or asset management.
  • You have experience in leading larger teams.
  • You use your leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward reaching common goals and objectives.
  • You have experience negotiating complex, large‐scale projects and contracts.
  • You are able to create win‐win solutions in challenging situations and clearly articulate commercial and contractual implications.
  • You have keen business insight, effective negotiation abilities, and project management experience.
  • You are experienced in building and maintaining long‐term customer relationships and are motivated by new opportunities.
  • You can present complex information in a professional and convincing manner, ensuring understanding, buy‐in, and alignment among stakeholders.
  • You have a solid understanding of financial and business models, as well as the commercial drivers of customer organizations.
  • You hold a master's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a comparable field.
  • You are fluent in both German and English, with well‐developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • You demonstrate a high degree of responsiveness and professionalism in an evolving business environment.
