Job Description We are looking for an F5 BIG-IP Engineer to design, deploy, and support enterprise load balancing, application delivery, and security infrastructure. This role focuses on hands-on BIG-IP administration, networking, and firewall/security concepts, with strong day-to-day operational ownership of LTM, GTM/DNS, and ASM/AWAF environments. Exposure to automation (Terraform/Ansible) is a plus but not the primary focus of this role.

Responsibilities

· Design, configure, and maintain F5 BIG-IP LTM (load balancing, virtual servers, pools, monitors, iRules, SSL profiles).

· Administer GTM/DNS for global traffic management and failover.

· Configure and tune ASM/AWAF policies for application security and WAF protection.

· Support network architecture including routing, VLANs, firewall rules, NAT, and traffic flow troubleshooting end-to-end (client → VIP → pool member).

· Manage F5 Virtual Editions (VE) in cloud environments (GCP/Azure) and/or on-prem hardware.

· Collaborate with network and security teams on firewall policy, segmentation, and traffic inspection requirements.

· Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and SSL/TLS issues across application delivery paths.

· Participate in change management, maintenance windows, and on-call support for production BIG-IP environments.

· Document configurations, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

· Where applicable, contribute to or support automation of BIG-IP configs using Ansible/Terraform.

Required Skills

· Hands-on production experience administering F5 BIG-IP (LTM required; GTM/DNS and ASM/AWAF strongly preferred).

· Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, load balancing concepts, SSL/TLS.

· Firewall and network security concepts (NAT, ACLs, segmentation, traffic inspection).

· Experience troubleshooting application traffic paths and diagnosing connectivity/performance issues.

· Familiarity with iRules and BIG-IP configuration objects (virtual servers, pools, monitors, profiles).

· Experience working in cloud environments (GCP and/or Azure) with F5 Virtual Editions.

· Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

· Working knowledge of Terraform and/or Ansible for BIG-IP automation.

· Familiarity with AS3, DO, or iControl REST APIs.

· F5 certification (F5-CA, F5-CTS, or equivalent).

· Experience with Splunk or cloud-native observability/logging tools.

· Exposure to CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).

· Scripting experience (Bash/Python).
