The Head of Marketing, Varian Americas is senior commercial leader responsible for shaping and delivering the Americas regional marketing strategy that drives measurable pipeline, accelerates adoption of Varian’s products and services, and strengthens brand leadership across the oncology continuum. This role orchestrates portfolio marketing, positioning and messaging, content and digital strategy, and customer engagement programs—translating market insights into scalable go-to-market execution in close partnership with Business Line commercial teams and regional sales leadership.
With a strong external orientation, they elevate Varian’s presence with customers, KOLs, and industry forums and advance priority growth initiatives—including Cancer Care Value Programs and Theranostics—positioning Varian as the trusted partner for outcomes-driven oncology services across the Americas.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Marketing & Demand Generation: Develop and execute a comprehensive regional marketing strategy aligned to growth objectives and market priorities.
- Strategic Marketing & Demand Generation: Design data-driven campaigns that generate demand, support growth, and increase customer engagement across the regional portfolio.
- Strategic Marketing & Demand Generation: Define target segments, value propositions, and go-to-market messaging for services.
- Content, Collateral & Customer Engagement: Develop high-impact marketing assets including brochures, presentations, and digital content, partnering with global business line marketing teams.
- Content, Collateral & Customer Engagement: Scale customer speaker programs and success-story platforms to showcase impact of products and solutions.
- Content, Collateral & Customer Engagement: Oversee newsletters and ongoing customer communications to strengthen relationships and awareness.
- Portfolio & Service Marketing: Partner with clinical, product, and service leaders to shape regional marketing programs that demonstrate clinical value, outcomes, and innovation.
- Portfolio & Service Marketing: Support product and service launches and portfolio expansions with structured marketing playbooks and enablement tools.
- Brand Positioning & Thought Leadership: Establish Varian as a global leader in oncology services through thought leadership content, industry events, and conference presence.
- Brand Positioning & Thought Leadership: Define trade show strategy, event participation, and executive visibility across priority oncology forums in the region.
- Enterprise Collaboration & Best Practices: Partner with business line marketing and commercial teams to tailor campaigns to local market needs while maintaining global brand consistency.
- Enterprise Collaboration & Best Practices: Establish regional marketing standards, processes, and performance benchmarks.
Qualifications & Experience
- 12+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally within healthcare, medical devices, oncology, or complex services environments.
- Proven success driving demand generation, portfolio marketing, and brand positioning at scale.
- Strong experience developing marketing collateral, scientific content, and customer engagement programs.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in global, matrixed organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $240,000 - $330,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position, the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
