Description
The Business Analyst currently serves under the direction of a Business Intelligence Lead. They are the data specialists who contribute to organizational improvement by gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports, and introducing process improvements throughout the reporting process. They have excellent analytical and technical skills, in addition to a keen ability to determine specifications and standards for business reporting and maintaining data integrity.
The Business Analyst's key responsibilities involve data extraction & maintenance, data modeling and transformation and data statistics/insights. Given that they receive various requests from Operations and Account Support Functions(WFM, CE, Coaching), it is a must to have strong task prioritization skills in addition to good statistical and critical thinking skills.
The Business Analyst must be a compelling Data Storyteller. Data storytelling is a structured approach for communicating data insights, and it involves a combination of three key elements: data, visuals, and narrative. Weekly Reports must contain Prescriptive Actions that the Operation Team can implement to help drive improvement in operation performance
A strong proficiency with computer application components such as Microsoft Office(Excel, PowerPoint) and G Suite is a must. Possess the ability to learn and navigate tools and dashboards. Must demonstrate professionalism at all times and utilize excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will have a passion for ensuring data quality, analyzing data and identifying patterns and trends as well as building engaging visualizations that simplify complex stories.
- Business Analysts gather and maintain a wide array of data-related business processes and reporting. This involves both entering information into existing databases and creating new processes and programs to accurately input and store critical data. They also work with data structures and metadata to ensure consistency, security, and accessibility.
- Reporting Analysts take an active role in data analysis and interpretation. They assemble, analyze and evaluate internal operational data, demonstrating ability to determine trends. Includes the comparison of data across different sources and definitions. Reporting analysts frequently need to exercise sound judgment while analyzing and interpreting data to ensure a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness for business leaders.
- Business Analysts prepare necessary data, documents and reports needed for upper management and executives, on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly basis. Reports can be created in any TELUS allowed tools like Google Suite, Excel, Looker Studio or Look ML, Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
- Business Analysts frequently work across business lines, conferring with managers and executives to gather requirements and specifications while developing enhanced data and reporting tools. They work directly with team leaders to gain a better sense of the current shortcomings in reporting technology and devise solutions to enhance reporting and data management.
- To ensure data accuracy and efficiency, Business Analysts conduct routine audits of data sources or storage, conducting many tests and analyzing the results before devising new solutions or finding ways to enhance data management solutions.
Minimum requirements for internal applicants:
- Should be a regular TELUS Digital Philippines team member
- Should not have any form of disciplinary action in the past 6 months
- Passing scorecard:
- Passing scorecard defined as Objectives + TELUS Values
- Should have an average 6 months scorecard of ACHIEVING for promotion or change in job scope.
- Should have an average of 6 months scorecard of DEVELOPING for lateral movement (Only applies to the same job profile and does not apply to the same job level but different job scope).
- Should be certified in Explore certification to apply for an Officer - People leader role.
- Should complete the Explore learning module in MyGrowth for an Officer - Individual Contributor role.
