Physical AI Engineering Consultant, Senior Consultant
The opportunity
Our Artificial Intelligence and Data team helps apply cutting edge technology and techniques to bring solutions to our clients. You will work side‐by‐side with clients and EY teams to create well‐rounded approaches to advising and solving challenging problems, some of which have not been solved before. Your key responsibilities
You will contribute to the delivery of innovative AI solutions by working with a wide variety of clients to deliver the latest data science and big data technologies. You will design and build scalable solutions that unify, enrich, and derive insights from varied data sources across a broad technology landscape. You will guide clients through modern robotics, digital twin applications, and software engineering, provide technical leadership, and perform development tasks to ensure robust engineering and maintenance of physical AI solutions that meet ongoing business needs of our clients.
- Researching and implementing scalable AI systems that meet business requirements.
- Enhancing data pipelines and storage for optimal data accuracy and cleanliness.
- Monitoring and optimizing learning processes to improve high‐performance models.
- Travel to engage with external clients as needed.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor’s degree (4‐year).
- 3–6 years of full‐time experience in robotics, digital twin, computer vision / deep learning / reinforcement learning.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java, and experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining robotics systems and digital twin models.
- Hands‐on experience with NVIDIA Omniverse or similar simulation environments.
- Understanding of robotic systems, kinematics, dynamics, and control algorithms.
- Understanding of sensors (e.g., LIDAR, cameras) and actuators used in robotics.
- Familiarity with creating and managing digital twins, including modeling, simulation, and real‐time data integration.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms, particularly in robotics and automation.
- Proficiency using data manipulation and analysis tools (Pandas, NumPy) and ML packages such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with DevOps tools like Git, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Agile practices for deploying analytical solutions.
- Solid understanding of ML workflows, including ingesting, transforming data, and evaluating results.
- Experience with MLOps methods and platforms such as MLFlow.
- Experience with CI/CD practices and software‐in‐the‐loop environments.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining end‐to‐end ML pipelines.
- Experience deploying ML workflows on a major cloud platform.
- Understanding of data structures, data modelling, and software engineering best practices.
- Proficiency with SQL, Pandas, and Spark.
- Strong mathematical, statistical, and operations research skills.
- Willingness to travel to meet client obligations.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Deep understanding and ability to teach concepts, tools, and techniques for AI and robotics.
- Advanced degree in robotics, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in research projects with publications in robotics, automation, or digital twin technologies.
- Proficiency with computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV) for object detection and tracking.
- Ability in designing control systems for robotic applications (PID, state‐space, adaptive).
- Experience in path planning, motion planning, and decision‐making algorithms.
- Hardware‐in‐the‐loop testing experience for validating robotic systems.
- Knowledge of Model‐Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for robotics and AI security and compliance.
- Testing expertise, including unit, integration, and system testing.
- Understanding of Agentic or Generative AI.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in technology.
- Strong programming skills beyond Python (e.g., R, JavaScript, Java, C++).
- Experience fine‐tuning Generative AI models.

- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including performance‐based rewards, medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off. Base salary ranges from $105,800 to $174,800 nationwide, with higher ranges for key metros.
- Hybrid work model: most external roles will be in person 40‐60% of the time.
