At the company / John Hancock we are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer within our Global Enterprise-wide Cloud Team.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days from Home; Working remotely option is not available.

Position Responsibilities

Role responsibilities requires building large scale systems and create robust and scalable platforms used across multiple teams. This includes designing, implementing, and supporting foundational elements of holistic solutions across the data transport, collection, and orchestration layers. In collaboration with cross‐functional teams, Platform Engineers play a key role in creating resilient and scalable platform for application development and delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Cloud & Platform Engineering Leadership: Senior leader in Engagement Engineering with a strong focus on building team capability, mentoring engineers, and establishing scalable CI/CD and operational standards.
  • Enterprise Cloud Architecture: Extensive experience designing and operating Azure-based enterprise platforms, including shared services models across IaaS and PaaS.
  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Advanced expertise in multi‐cloud automation and IaC using Terraform, ARM, Ansible, and Chef, supported by modern CI/CD and repository ecosystems.
  • Hybrid & End-to-End Systems Engineering: Deep experience integrating and supporting full‐stack infrastructure across both on‐premises and cloud environments.
  • Kubernetes & Container Platforms: Hands‐on leadership in deployment, security, and operations of enterprise Kubernetes environments.
  • Technology Transformation & Modernization: Proven ability to drive adoption of modern technologies and evolve legacy systems into scalable, distributed cloud architectures.
  • Business & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong partnership with business units to translate requirements into strategic, scalable technical solutions.

Salary and Benefits

For Boston hiring, Base Salary range: $107,450 USD - $153,500 USD (mid‐point) - $199,550 USD.

Toronto, Ontario - Salary range is expected to be between $113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CAD. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job‐related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
