Senior Legal Counsel
Taylor Root has been exclusively retained by a leading multinational industrial group to appoint a (Senior) Legal Counsel to join its European legal function.

The Role
As part of a highly skilled legal team, you will work closely with the General Counsel and collaborate with colleagues across Europe. You will act as a trusted advisor to the business on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and operational matters, supporting major industrial activities and strategic projects.
This position is ideal for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys navigating sophisticated legal challenges, partnering with senior stakeholders, and contributing to large‐scale industrial and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial, procurement, capex, energy, and long‐term industrial contracts.
- Advise on real‐estate matters relating to industrial land, production facilities, and infrastructure.
- Provide guidance on regulatory, environmental, energy‐related, and operational legal risks.
- Support cross‐border projects, partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic transactions across several European jurisdictions.
- Manage and coordinate external counsel, ensuring quality and cost control.
- Oversee litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings within your remit.
- Contribute to legal training, template development, playbooks, and digitalisation initiatives.
- Promote strong governance, legal risk management, and adherence to group policies.
Your Profile
- 8-10+ years of experience in commercial law, ideally with exposure to sales, procurement, and industrial contracting.
- Background in an international law firm or a global industrial/technology‐driven organisation.
- Experience coordinating complex, multi‐jurisdictional projects or transactions.
- Interest or experience in adjacent areas such as corporate, insolvency, real estate, or regulatory law.
- Full German legal qualification (two state exams), with at least one passed with distinction.
- Fluent in English; strong drafting skills in both English and German.
- A proactive, hands‐on mindset with the ability to analyse and solve complex issues.
- Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and the ability to thrive in a fast‐paced, international environment.
