Lead Engineer (f/m/d) for Protection and Control Technology in High-Voltage Engineering As a Lead Engineer (f/m/d) for Protection and Control Technology, you will take on a central technical role in our demanding projects in the high-voltage engineering sector. You will be the technical interface between our customers, our Bid Management and our engineering organization and bring your extensive experience to robust, economical and future-oriented system solutions. You will combine technical excellence, engineering leadership, customer orientation and business understanding. You will take on technical responsibility for solution finding, set the direction for engineering and support both our engineering teams and our Bid Management with demanding technical issues. What you can contribute - You will take on technical leadership and responsibility for engineering solutions in the field of protection and control technology within demanding high-voltage projects - You will act as a technical authority and central point of contact for customers, Bid Management, engineering teams and other technical stakeholders - You will analyze customer requirements and technical specifications and translate them into technically robust, standardized and economical system solutions - You will develop and evaluate system architectures, protection concepts, automation and communication solutions and provide technical recommendations and solution directions - You will support our Bid Management in the offer and tendering phase with the technical assessment of customer requirements, specifications and tender documents - You will work with Bid Management to develop technical concepts, solution variants, engineering strategies and effort estimates for offers - You will identify technical risks, deviations and open points during the offer phase and support the development of suitable technical and commercial solution strategies - You will lead technical coordination, workshops, design reviews and technical clarification meetings with customers, network operators and project partners - You will take on technical leadership and technical support of engineering teams and ensure consistent technical implementation and coordinate the technical interfaces between protection technology, station control technology, communications, primary technology and other engineering disciplines - You will promote knowledge transfer within the engineering organization and contribute to the further development of standards, methods and technical solutions - You will work closely with international engineering teams and connect local customer requirements with international engineering expertise - You will support the organization in developing competitive and economically attractive solutions from technical requirements and thus successfully win new business opportunities What you bring - Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology or a comparable field - Many years of proven experience in protection and control technology for high-voltage systems and electrical switchgear - Comprehensive understanding of protection technology, station control technology, control and automation technology as well as communication systems in substations - Good knowledge in the project planning, parameterization and testing of protection and control devices, for example with DIGSI or comparable engineering tools. - Experience with the technical requirements and standards of transmission and distribution network operators (TSOs/DSOs), energy suppliers, generators, industrial companies and renewable energy projects - Experience in technical leadership, technical coordination or mentoring of engineering teams - Ideally experience in technical support of tenders and offer processes and a good understanding of how technical solutions can be transferred into competitive offers - You are able to make technical decisions, justify them clearly and win engineering teams and customers for a common technical solution - You combine technical excellence with economic thinking and can evaluate different solution variants with regard to quality, risk, effort and customer benefits - You are characterized by initiative, a sense of responsibility and decision-making and actively drive technical issues - You enjoy solving complex technical challenges, passing on knowledge and technically developing other engineers - Negotiation skills in German for communication with customers, network operators, authorities and project partners in the DACH region as well as very good English skills for collaboration with international engineering teams About the team Our Grid Technologies division enables a reliable, sustainable and digital grid.
