TOUR LEADER/GUIDE

For our most popular river cruises in Rhein- Main – Danube area

We are looking for a motivated and flexible person that is open to growth and feedback, that will welcome a chance to be challenged and thrive in the company that set the standard for river cruising and land tours.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Your main responsibility is to lead a group of elderly American travelers through countries in the Rhein – Main- Danube area according to the given itinerary. On your way you will provide informative talks on the history, culture and highlights of the ports, cities and countries we visit.
  • Regions: Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland
  • You will conduct guided tours, discovery walks and accompany travelers to “off the beaten track” locations.
  • Part of your daily routine will be confirming transportation/activities, working with local guides/vendors and dealing with emergency situations (with the help of our regional office)
  • Arranging for medical personnel for the travelers, in case of emergency, and helping them with all further issues

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE SHOULD YOU HAVE?

  • Enthusiasm and passion for the people, country, culture and traditions of the region
  • Be a local of the regions we travel to or have very strong connections to them
  • Ability to share life experiences and a willingness to discuss controversial topics with guests
  • Ability to learn, try new things and go outside of your comfort zone
  • Good overview and knowledge of the history and culture of your area
  • Ability to relate well to a mature American traveler
  • A strong and engaging leader who is flexible, creative, independent and highly organized
  • Fluent English + other Germanic languages are preferred (itinerary-related)
  • Basic knowledge of Excel to submit end of trip reports and paperwork.
  • Prior ship and bus tour experience an advantage but not essential
