- As a Director (f/m/x) in Java Backend Engineering, you will set the technical direction for high-performance backend systems in a latency-sensitive electronic trading environment and lead a globally distributed engineering team delivering front-to-back trading solutions
- Define and drive the overall technical vision, architecture strategy, and delivery of end-to-end trading platforms
- Lead and develop a globally distributed engineering organization, including mentoring senior engineers and supporting hiring activities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of complex front-to-back trading systems
- Evaluate, prototype, and introduce innovative technologies and solutions to address business and technical challenges
- Champion AI-assisted engineering practices, tools, and frameworks to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency
- Establish and maintain engineering excellence through architecture governance, code reviews, standards, and technical mentorship
- Collaborate with senior business stakeholders, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to align priorities, drive automation, and optimize the software delivery lifecycle
Qualifications
- Practical experience applying AI within software engineering environments and driving the adoption of AI-enabled development practices
- Strong understanding of modern software architectures, design patterns, industry frameworks, and engineering best practices
- Demonstrated success leading and mentoring engineers within globally distributed teams
- Expert-level hands-on experience in Core Java, including multithreading, networking, performance optimization, and scalable system design
- Proven track record in designing, developing, and delivering complex front-to-back enterprise systems end-to-end
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and English language skills, with the ability to engage effectively across both business and technical audiences
- Experience implementing high-performance, fault-tolerant, and load-balanced solutions, supported by solid mathematical and algorithmic knowledge
