Head of Direct Purchasing (m/f/d) – Cologne

Responsibilities

• Technical and disciplinary management of direct purchasing with a focus on plastics
• Development and implementation of a global purchasing strategy
• Ensuring quality, delivery capability and cost optimisation along the supply chain
• Leadership and development of the purchasing team
• Development, selection and further development of national and international suppliers
• Conducting price and contract negotiations
• Analysing procurement markets and identifying potential savings
• Close cooperation with development and production for new projects

Qualifications

• Completed studies in the field of industrial engineering, business administration, plastics technology or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in direct purchasing, ideally with a focus on plastics, injection moulding or technical components
• Sound knowledge of the plastics market (materials, supplier structures, price developments)
• Experience in working with development and production, especially with regard to tools and materials
• Leadership experience and strong negotiating skills
• Strategic and analytical thinking
• Business fluent in German and English
