About the job

As Head of Procurement GSA (all genders) within our Procurement team, you will take ownership of procurement performance across GSA, spanning both COGS and indirect spend, and lead the transformation of how we deliver value through strategic partnerships and innovative supplier solutions.

You will be the face of Procurement locally, driving operational excellence, compliance, and digital innovation while fostering strong relationships with country leadership and key stakeholders.

Main responsibilitiesStrategic Business Partnership & Operational Excellence

  • Serve as the single point of contact for country leadership, country chair, council, MCO Finance BPs, and commercial leads.
  • Provide feedback on global strategies and drive their implementation at MCO level, adapting them to local realities.
  • Maintain routine country/MCO reviews and support procurement pipeline integration into budgetary processes.
  • Drive efficiency across end‐to‐end procurement and S2P processes with a holistic view, incorporating AI.
  • Support COGS sites and local business projects with a One Sanofi mindset.

Value Creation & Supplier Relationship Management

  • Drive commercial value delivery by supporting category management teams and contributing to global cost reduction.
  • Strengthen local supplier relationships, validate supplier segmentation, and attend local SRM programs.
  • Identify innovative local vendors that can be leveraged across the wider group, in sync with domain teams.
  • Explore novel technologies and applications within the local vendor base.

Compliance, Risk & Business Continuity

  • Ensure adherence to global procurement policies and oversee implementation to completion.
  • Identify and close gaps related to Risk/CSR/Compliance in collaboration with Procurement Excellence & Transformation.
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of local policies/processes and ensure they are integrated into procurement strategies.
  • Support local audits (Internal, SEC) and maintain procurement Business Continuity Plan at MCO level.

Transformational Leadership & Digital Innovation

  • Lead the embedding of new ways of working and drive sustainable behavioral change.
  • Support deployment of the Procurement Digital roadmap and benchmark practices across industries.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas of improvement and support deployment of new tools/processes.
  • Drive adoption of solutions that improve Sanofi's position on sustainability indices (e.g., DJSI).

Communication, Knowledge & Influence

  • Maintain peer‐to‐peer relationships with MCO leaders, General Managers, and take decisions on behalf of procurement on MCO councils.
  • Establish and help to maintain a centralized knowledge repository as the procurement single point of contact representative for the geography, and promote one single source of truth/data.
  • Lead communication programs within the geography and provide input for global initiatives.
  • Foster a common culture and mindset amongst team members; elevate potential business risks.

People Development & Talent Management

  • Promote a strong procurement culture, support organizational design.
  • Conduct holistic talent management including target setting, succession planning, calibration, mentoring, and recognition.
  • Foster cross‐functional and transversal talent development.

About you

  • 10+ years of relevant working experience in procurement or related fields.
  • Strategic & Transformational Leadership – Proven ability to lead transformation, embed change, and influence at country and executive levels for the benefit of the operating unit.
  • Matrix Influence & Stakeholder Management – Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority in complex matrix environments, aligning global, regional, and local teams to deliver outcomes for the operating unit.
  • Procurement Expertise – Strong knowledge of best‐in‐class procurement practices; experience in GSA market, matrix or hub‐led models preferred.
  • Communication & Networking – Confident communicator with strong internal and external stakeholder influence.
  • Analytical & Change Capability – Highly analytical with demonstrable experience delivering and sustaining change.
  • Professional Attributes – Independent, resilient, ethically strong, comfortable challenging the status quo.
  • Education – Master's degree from an accredited college or university (required). Post‐bachelor's degree (e.g., MBA) in procurement, sales, finance, business or equivalent is preferred.
  • Languages – Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken.

Salary range: €113,760.00 – €151,680.00. Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
