The role

As Head of Compliance & AMLO (pursuant to § 7 GwG) in personal union, you are the regulatory conscience of our company. You are responsible for building an efficient, fully digital compliance and anti-money-laundering framework. No paper tigers, we want to build compliance "by design" into our products.

Your responsibilities

• Building and leading the compliance function (ZAG-MaRisk AT 4.4.2) and assuming the statutory role of Anti-Money Laundering Officer towards BaFin and the FIU.
• Preparing and continuously developing the institution-specific risk analysis (GwG & fraud) and the internal control system (ICS).
• Implementing and calibrating modern, AI-supported transaction monitoring systems and sanctions-list screening (e.g. Hawk AI, Lucinity).
• Designing lean but legally sound KYC/KYB processes (e-KYC, video identification, automated UBO determination) in direct collaboration with the product and engineering team.
• Sparring partner for management and single point of contact (SPOC) for BaFin, the Bundesbank and auditors.
• Writing pragmatic, easy-to-understand work instructions and delivering internal training.

Who you are

• Fully qualified lawyer, business lawyer or comparable qualification with solid experience in payments/e-money.
• You meet BaFin's requirements for the professional suitability of an AMLO.
• You know the ZAG, PSD2/PSD3, GwG and the relevant EBA guidelines inside out.
• You have experience configuring AML tools and understand how to drastically reduce false-positive rates through smart data models and AI.
• Native-level German and business-fluent English.
