About this roleAs Lead Vendor Management & Operations, you will lead the team responsible for the operational management, performance and development of Lieferando’s vendor logistics partners across Germany.In this role, you will own the overall Vendor Operations & Management agenda, covering external fleet management, vendor performance, strategic partnerships and logistics account management. You will ensure strong operational execution, high service quality and sustainable partner performance across our vendor logistics network.You will lead and develop a team of Vendor Key Account Managers and Vendor Success Managers, establishing clear ownership, effective performance routines and strong relationships with our external logistics partners.You will work closely with the Head of Vendor Strategy & Operations and internal teams including Network & Pricing, Compliance, Finance, Product & Tech, Customer Service, Sales and Account Management.This is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on Lieferando’s logistics performance, partner landscape and continued growth of the vendor logistics network.These are some of the key ingredients to the role:Vendor Management & OperationsOwn the end-to-end operational management of Lieferando’s external fleet partner portfolioEnsure strong day-to-day operational execution and service quality across the networkEstablish clear vendor governance, ownership and operational routinesLead major operational escalations and partner-related incidentsPerformance & Fleet ManagementOwn the overall external fleet partner performance management framework and key logistics KPIsIdentify performance gaps and ensure structured improvement plans and corrective actionsDrive continuous improvements in delivery quality, reliability and operational efficiencyEnsure partners are effectively managed against agreed performance targets and service levelsPartnerships & Account ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with strategic external fleet partnersOversee logistics account management for strategic Local Hero and Core Brand partnersDrive structured partner reviews, performance discussions and development plansEnsure effective coordination between external partners and internal stakeholdersTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach and develop the Vendor Management & Operations teamSet clear priorities, responsibilities and performance expectations across the teamBuild a high-performance and ownership-driven cultureContinuously develop team capabilities, processes and ways of working as the vendor management organization scalesCross-Functional Collaboration & ExecutionCollaborate closely with Network & Pricing, Compliance, Finance, Product & Tech, Customer Service, Sales and Account ManagementTranslate operational requirements and partner feedback into cross-functional improvement initiativesSupport network growth, capacity planning and strategic 3PL initiativesEnsure effective execution of new processes, products and operational changes across fleet partnersReporting & GovernanceTrack and report external fleet partner performance, risks, escalations and opportunities to senior stakeholdersEstablish structured performance reviews and governance routinesEnsure data-driven decision-making and transparency across relevant operational KPIsProvide clear recommendations and actions based on performance trends and partner insightsWhat will you bring to the table?Strong professional experience in logistics, operations, vendor management or marketplace operations, ideally within a vendor management or last-mile environmentProven experience in leading and developing high-performing teamsStrong experience managing external logistics partners, fleets or complex vendor relationshipsStrong analytical mindset with experience in KPIs, performance management and data-driven decision-makingProven ability to drive operational performance and continuous improvementStrong ownership mentality with the ability to manage complex operational topics and escalationsExperience working in fast-paced environments such as delivery, e-commerce, logistics or mobilityExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levelsAbility to collaborate effectively across commercial, operational and technical functionsStructured, proactive and solution-oriented working styleWillingness to travel occasionally within GermanyFluent in German and EnglishOur OfferLike a well-balanced recipe: your skills and our offer are a perfect match!
