Qualcomm is recruiting a Senior Director, Sales Automotive, offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join as the account lead for a major EU OEM account in Germany, focusing on Automotive products and services.
Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities within focused automotive segments.
- Develop and secure a sustainable network at the customer at both technical and business teams, gaining early visibility of new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain long‐term relationships with key executive and working‐level stakeholders at OEMs, providing a 360 view of the customer across technical and commercial teams.
- Work closely with OEM stakeholders to identify market developments and competitive situations early and plan product offerings for new projects.
- Collaborate with Business Unit Product Management and Regional leadership to:
- Build strategy and goals for account design wins and revenue pipelines.
- Support RFQ and design‐in processes for new projects.
- Conduct price negotiations with finance.
- Drive commercial agreements with legal.
- Support PDMP and Engineering with cost analysis for support/NRE and manage negotiations with the customer.
- Set up and follow up on commercial projects from initial sale to SOP to EOL, supporting milestones, CRs, maintenance, etc.
- Work closely with customer engineering to support ongoing deployment and maintenance of projects.
- Manage forecasting, quotes, invoicing, samples and production ramp‐ups, including supply management with operational and logistics teams.
- Serve as the first point of contact and trusted partner for customer inquiries, together with the assigned team.
- Process all relevant regional and international sales topics within the BU and with customers directly.
- Observe customer trends in terms of application, technical, quantitative and monetary development.
- Conduct regular customer visits or online conferences to provide design/technical advice, approvals, prepare offers, price negotiations, ordering, annual and framework purchase agreements, logistics and quality management, and customer care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in semiconductor sales, account management or business development.
- Deep understanding of the European automotive market ecosystem and go‐to‐market channels.
- Very strong interpersonal, communication and fluent negotiation skills in English; German preferred.
- Ability to explain complex technical content convincingly at different business levels.
- Autonomous working style with the ability to set priorities for Qualcomm’s business and its customers.
- Management experience to mentor junior account leads.
- Presence in the office to support effective teamwork.
- Strong internal drive to collaborate with Qualcomm Business Units to advance business initiatives.
- Ability to interface at all levels of the customer and conduct frequent onsite visits to build relationships.
- Background in legal and finance sales processes.
- High level of flexibility, autonomy, motivation, customer focus, business orientation, and networking ability.
- Excellent communication and management skills for face‐to‐face and virtual team meetings.
