As a Data Architect, you will work closely with product owners, data professionals, software developers, and business stakeholders from Finance and Fraud. You will advise on architectural design decisions for our products and translate company-wide goals into actionable objectives for the team. Your expertise will help shape the data landscape within the Digitec Galaxus Order Management Area and strengthen our data science and analytics engineering capabilities.

Your Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to understand and shape the data architectural landscape within the company
• Advise on best practices for technical and architectural decisions within the team that align with company goals
• Communicate relevant developments across the company to the team and translate them into actionable goals
• Drive and expand data science and analytics engineering initiatives within the Finance area, enhancing our capabilities and impact
• Contribute to the community of Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers at Digitec Galaxus by enhancing our models, codebase and platform

Your Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a data-focused field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science
• 10+ years of experience creating actionable insights from data, preferably in a financial risk domain, including 5+ years in a senior role
• Practical experience with data design patterns and data modelling in larger organisational settings; experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP or AWS is a plus
• Hands-on experience with real-time and data streaming technologies is advantageous
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and relatable way to diverse audiences
• Ability to coach and lead other data professionals in best practices and technologies
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and the EU AI Act, combined with a commitment to maintaining high standards of data security
• Experience with agile methodologies and working effectively within cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with product owners and business stakeholders
• Ability to act as an interface between data and platform teams
• Background in fraud detection and/or credit risk is a plus
• Fluency in English is required
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance productivity and effectiveness
• Treat others as a mature partner in the success of Galaxus
