To further drive the digital transformation in municipal administration, we’re looking for you as a Data Engineer (m/f/d) for a modern, AI-powered cloud data stack.

Join our team in the Social Security division on a full-time basis, based in Herten in the heart of the Ruhr region—and advance your career with the market leader in municipal IT solutions!

Here’s what your job will entail...

• Together with your team, you’ll continue to develop the next generation of our modern cloud data platform based on a cloud-native stack
• You’ll design and develop data pipelines and software for the automated processing and preparation of data from our line-of-business applications within a data-agnostic processing architecture
• You’ll work in an agile team and actively help shape our data strategy—independently, iteratively, and in close collaboration with your colleagues
• You’ll naturally use AI-powered tools such as LLMs, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code in your day-to-day work and, together with your team, develop new applications for AI
• You continuously evaluate new AI technologies—for example, for data analysis, code generation, or automated data quality checks—and integrate them into our data platform
• You work with modern technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Quarkus, Cube.js, and other state-of-the-art tools
• Together with our subject matter and domain experts, you’ll translate technical requirements into high-performance and scalable data solutions
• For you, quality assurance, monitoring, and DevOps are an integral part of the development process
• On Fridays, we deliberately set aside time for innovation and knowledge sharing—for example, through our Barcamps or by experimenting together with new technologies
• In addition, depending on your interests, you can also get involved in cross-functional topics such as security or quality assurance

Here’s what we’re looking for...

• You have a college degree with a focus on IT, mathematics, or the natural sciences, or comparable training
• Even more important to us is your enthusiasm for solving complex data problems and applying modern technologies
• You’ve already gained practical experience with cloud technologies as well as Kotlin/Java, SQL, or comparable technologies
• Ideally, you’re already using AI tools such as LLMs or copilots productively—or are eager to dive deep into this field
• You enjoy trying new things, taking on responsibility, and developing solutions collaboratively as part of a team
• You’re known for your agile mindset and your structured, self-directed approach to work
• You’re committed to continuous professional and personal growth
