A Family-Owned Business with a Long Tradition
neoLab—a family-owned business that has been active in the field of laboratory supplies for three generations. We are proud of our more than 70-year tradition and our passion for first-class laboratory products.
It all began more than 70 years ago in Heidelberg, where Kurt Migge developed and sold his first laboratory products. He laid the foundation for our company and instilled in us the values and commitment that still drive us today. Over the past seven decades, our family has continuously developed the company with great passion and dedication.
As a family-owned business, our values are particularly important to us. We foster a culture of openness, honesty, and responsibility toward our customers, partners, and employees. We are proud to have been supporting our customers for many years and to be a reliable partner in the field of laboratory supplies.
neoLab Migge GmbH is an established laboratory supplier based in Heidelberg. What sets us apart: We’re a medium-sized company that operates like a digital enterprise. The vast majority of our orders are processed through digital channels, with a large portion of them handled fully automatically. Behind this pace is a modern, AI-powered technology and automation stack that we’re consistently expanding. That’s exactly why we’re looking for you.
Your role:
You’ll gradually take on operational responsibility for our digital tools and automation systems. You won’t be thrown in at the deep end: Our technical lead will personally and systematically train you and then continue to support you as a fractional CTO. This way, you’ll grow into a key role right from the start and help shape how AI drives real business.
Responsibilities
- You’ll operate, maintain, and expand our AI automation systems (some of which are LLM-based): analytics, order and quote processing, and data pipelines.
- You’ll further develop our Magento store and the interfaces to the ERP (SAP Business ByDesign).
- You’ll ensure data quality for product, customer, and inventory data—the foundation of all automation.
- You’ll independently build small tools, scripts, and interfaces.
- You’ll serve as the technical point of contact for Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, and the Data Team: These departments know their processes best, and you’ll build the right tools for them.
- This is intentionally a lot to take on, and you won’t be expected to handle it all at once: At first, you’ll work under close supervision, and your level of independent responsibility will grow as you become more familiar with the role.
Qualifications
- A completed vocational training program or degree in (Business) Information Technology, e-commerce, IT, or a comparable qualification. Motivated career changers with a genuine affinity for technology are also welcome.
- Basic knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or SQL, and the drive to not only use but also master AI and LLM tools.
- An affinity for e-commerce and a good understanding of business processes and process-oriented thinking.
- A structured, independent work style, a hands-on mentality, and curiosity to learn new things quickly.
- Very good German and good English (for tools and documentation).
Benefits
- Long-term career prospects with opportunities for growth
- Exciting responsibilities in a close-knit, family-like environment
- A structured and thorough training and support program as part of our onboarding process
- 30 days of vacation with a 5-day workweek
- Flat hierarchies and dynamic decision-making processes in a flexible environment
- Discounted membership at a well-known regional fitness partner
- Access to our “jobrad” mobility program
- Company retirement plan
- Free drinks and coffee
- Company parties and team events
- Great colleagues full of ideas, who treat each other as equals, are on a first-name basis, and don’t follow a dress code
SOUNDS LIKE YOU?
Then we look forward to receiving your application, including your resume and a few sentences explaining what appeals to you about the intersection of AI, e-commerce, and processes. Transcripts are secondary—we’d rather see what you’ve already built or automated.
