Managing Partner, Consulting – Overview

As a Managing Partner in Gartner Consulting DACH, you will advise DACH’s most influential organizations on the decisions that will define their next decade. You operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, and executive leadership, serving as a trusted advisor to senior government leaders, CIOs, and CEOs. Your role involves owning and expanding a portfolio of Gartner’s most important clients, leveraging Gartner’s unmatched insights, benchmarking, and global expertise to address mission‐critical challenges.

Why This Role Matters (DACH)

DACH enterprises face distinctive pressures: modernizing legacy environments without disrupting operations, balancing global digital acceleration with local compliance and governance, turning data, AI, and cloud investments into measurable value, managing ecosystem complexity across vendors and integrators, and optimizing cost while maintaining quality, security, and brand trust.

Responsibilities

  • Advise at the highest level and partner with senior executives to define technology strategies that directly enable business outcomes—growth, efficiency, innovation, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead hands‐on consulting engagements grounded in Gartner insights, helping clients move from “what should we do?” to “how do we make this real?”
  • Drive measurable value by helping organizations modernize platforms, rationalize applications, migrate to cloud, unlock data and analytics, manage cyber risk, and optimize cost and sourcing.
  • Expand the account portfolio and drive revenue growth through strategic relationship development and consistently identifying and closing new opportunities.
  • Lead exceptional teams: inspire, coach, and develop high‐performing consultants who thrive on solving complex problems.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Credibility across multiple IT domains, not just one lane.
  • Track record of leading teams with a strong collaboration mindset, influencing executives, and delivering outcomes, not just recommendations.
  • Intellectual curiosity and confidence to adapt Gartner’s frameworks to each client’s unique situation.
  • Stamina and presence to juggle multiple senior‐level client priorities without losing focus or quality.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Native German fluency required.
