We're partnering with a leading international pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation to recruit a Senior Database & Systems Administrator who will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing a complex, highly regulated IT landscape.

The Role

As a Senior Database & Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of business-critical database and infrastructure systems. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers, you will support and optimise the organisation's IT environment while contributing to key infrastructure and digital transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, maintain, and continuously improve database platforms and supporting infrastructure
Manage and support Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle databases, and data warehouse environments
Coordinate reporting solutions, integrations, and system interfaces
Support administration of the virtualisation environment and core IT infrastructure
Participate in and lead IT infrastructure and systems projects where required
Provide support across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line functions
Implement and integrate new IT solutions into existing environments
Monitor, evaluate, and improve IT security, system performance, and resilience
Maintain technical documentation within a regulated environment
Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, GMP requirements, and data protection standards

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

✅ Fluent German language skills (written and spoken)

✅ Good English language skills (minimum B2 level)

✅ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience

✅ Minimum 5 years' experience in enterprise IT infrastructure environments

✅ Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database administration

✅ VMware virtualisation expertise

✅ Windows Server administration experience

✅ Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP management experience

✅ Strong understanding of infrastructure security, lifecycle management, and best practices

Desirable Experience

Linux administration
Google GCP / Google Workspace
Citrix environments
Backup & Recovery technologies
Network administration
GMP-regulated or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
Data warehouse and reporting platforms
