Director, European Sales – Digital Assets / Capital Markets The Role
Our client is a regulated European financial institution building institutional‐grade digital asset infrastructure at the intersection of traditional finance and the crypto ecosystem, offering a broad suite of digital asset products and services to institutional clients. As Director Institutional Sales, you will be a senior commercial leader responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the firm’s institutional client base across Europe. You will originate and develop strategic relationships with European financial institutions – including banks, asset managers, hedge funds, fintechs, and family offices – engaging decision‐makers at Director, Managing Director, and C‐suite level across key European financial centres. This is a high‐impact, relationship‐led role for an experienced institutional salesperson who combines deep knowledge of European capital markets with a genuine understanding of the digital asset landscape. The role is hands‐on and execution‐oriented, requiring a self‐starter who takes full ownership of their pipeline and revenue outcomes while collaborating closely with internal teams.

Role & Responsibilities
- Identify, originate, and develop new institutional client relationships across Europe, targeting banks, asset managers, hedge funds, fintechs, and crypto‐native firms
- Manage and deepen a portfolio of senior institutional accounts, acting as a trusted point of contact at Director, MD, and C‐suite level and driving adoption of the firm’s product suite
- Lead the full sales lifecycle – from prospecting and product education through commercial negotiation, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management
- Articulate the firm’s value proposition with authority, covering infrastructure, liquidity, product capabilities, and its strong regulatory standing in Europe
- Collaborate with trading, product, and compliance teams to ensure client requirements are understood and the offering remains competitive for European institutional needs
- Represent the firm at senior industry events, forums, and client meetings, raising its profile within the institutional financial services and digital asset communities
- Monitor European regulatory developments – including MiCA – to keep the sales approach fully compliant with regulated counterparties
Experience & Qualifications
- Significant institutional sales or business development experience within European financial services, with time spent in a senior client‐facing role at a bank, exchange, asset manager, broker, or fintech
- An established network of active relationships at Director, MD, and C‐suite level across European financial institutions, with demonstrable ability to convert these into commercial outcomes
- Proven track record as an individual contributor, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets and closing complex, multi‐stakeholder institutional transactions
- Strong understanding of digital assets and crypto markets and their intersection with traditional finance
- Confident, consultative communicator; hands‐on and execution‐oriented, with full personal accountability for outcomes
- Fluent in English and German
