Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of Dayforce solutions across the full project lifecycle, from opportunity and requirements gathering through design, configuration, testing, data conversion, integration, and go-live
- Interpret client business objectives and translate them into actionable solution designs, effort estimates, and cost proposals that result in signed contracts
- Design custom extensibility solutions using the Dayforce Extensibility Framework, including custom WFM rules, scripting, and bespoke configuration to address complex client calculation and workflow requirements
- Design and develop modern integrations through APIs, RESTful services, SOAP, Event Services, Microservices, and iPaaS platforms such as Dell Boomi, enabling seamless data flows between Dayforce and third‐party systems
- Lead solutioning for Dayforce AI modules, including AI‐assisted scheduling, predictive analytics, intelligent document processing, and generative AI features by advising clients on use cases, readiness, configuration, and governance best practices
- Leverage generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) and AI‐assisted development environments to accelerate solution design, documentation, code generation, and quality assurance activities
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients post‐contract signing, leading status calls, resolving developer questions, and guiding user story creation through the delivery phase
- Offer best‐practice recommendations on custom solutions and integrations as well as standard Dayforce product functionality, educating clients on the full spectrum of configurable and customizable options available to them
- At the opportunity stage, collaborate with clients and Align HCM business development leadership to understand requirements, assess feasibility, and prepare and deliver compelling solution presentations and demonstrations
- Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure overall solution architecture is sound and proposed designs meet requirements and expectations established during the selection process
- Lead design and peer reviews, individual and team unit testing, and client QA/UAT support activities, ensuring rigorous quality standards throughout delivery
- Create and maintain comprehensive solution documentation, including design specifications, implementation instructions, data dictionaries, integration maps, and knowledge transfer materials for both internal teams and clients
- Mentor junior and intermediate consultants, helping to set the direction for the Dayforce practice, share knowledge, and build internal capability across the team
- Collaborate with Dayforce product teams to identify product gaps, surface client opportunities, and contribute to ongoing process improvement within the broader ecosystem
- Build strong, trust‐based partnerships with clients by demonstrating deep technical expertise, a proactive attitude, and a consistent commitment to delivering high‐quality outcomes
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands‐on Dayforce solution architecture experience, with broad functional knowledge across multiple Dayforce modules (Payroll, Benefits, Time & Attendance, Workforce Management, Recruiting, Onboarding, and/or Learning)
- Expert understanding of the Dayforce Extensibility Framework and how Dayforce interacts with third‐party systems, including deep knowledge of data flow implications to and from the platform
- 3+ years of experience designing, coding, testing, and documenting modern APIs and middleware, with proficiency in RESTful services, SOAP, Event Services, and/or Microservices architectures
- Demonstrated experience solutioning for Dayforce AI modules, including familiarity with AI‐assisted scheduling, predictive workforce analytics, intelligent automation features, and the governance and data readiness considerations they require
- Active comfort and proven experience using generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) in day‐to‐day professional work—for solution design, code generation, documentation, or analysis—and a genuine enthusiasm for staying current as the AI landscape evolves
- Canada and US domain knowledge, including back‐office payroll and compliance implications; ability to build global domain knowledge across other regions as the practice expands
- Strong consulting, analytical, and problem‐solving skills with experience navigating difficult conversations with clients and internal stakeholders
- Coaching and/or mentoring experience with the ability to exercise leadership through superior technical and domain knowledge
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Solution‐oriented approach with a proactive, “make it happen” attitude and the ability to work effectively through ambiguity and competing priorities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a closely related field; or equivalent professional experience
- Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as needed
