IT Strategy & Project Manager

IT Strategy & Project Manager | AUG Contract | Munich | Up to 24 months | Up to €125,000 p.a. (negotiable)

The global IT function of a world-leading technology group is looking for an experienced IT Strategy and Project Manager to join its team in Munich. The organisation designs and manufactures high-end communications, test and measurement equipment used in defence, aerospace, broadcast and network technology across more than 70 countries. This role sits at the centre of how IT strategy is shaped, communicated and delivered at an enterprise scale.

This is not a conventional IT project management position. The team operates as an inhouse consulting function embedded within global IT leadership — working directly with senior management to develop strategic concepts, lead transformation initiatives and translate complex topics into clear, decision-ready formats. Candidates with a background in IT project delivery without a strategy or inhouse consulting dimension will not be a fit for this role.

The Role

• Work on new IT concepts and support the ongoing development of the global IT strategy in close alignment with the global IT management team
• Define, plan and implement strategic concepts and topics in direct collaboration with IT leadership
• Conceive, execute and document formats such as workshops; coordinate all required stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Lead strategic and conceptual initiatives — including process improvements, organisational transformation and IT operating model evolution
• Prepare management meetings and decision-making bodies; track and follow up on decisions at senior leadership level
• Develop and visualise complex analyses and topics for IT management in clear, structured and impactful formats
• Degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification
• 3 to 5 years of experience in IT strategy, inhouse consulting or strategy consulting — a background in generic IT project management is not sufficient for this role
• Strong process understanding across the IT value chain with end-to-end thinking across IT functions
• Demonstrable track record of leading cross-functional transformation programmes at enterprise scale
• Practical experience engaging stakeholders across all management levels, including C-level
• Very good M365 skills — particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Teams — for management-level deliverables
• Business-fluent German (C1) and business-fluent English — both languages are a firm requirement for this role

• Contract term: Up to 24 months
• Working hours: 38 hours per week
• Salary: Up to €125,000 p.a. (negotiable)
