IT System Administrator for Servers & Cloud (m/f/d)
for our location in Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia
Do you want to not only operate systems but also actively further develop our modern server, cloud, and network infrastructure?
Then join our international IT team and take on responsibility for the operation, security, and further development of our hybrid IT infrastructure—from Microsoft 365 and virtualization to networking and IT security.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage IT infrastructure: You’ll administer and optimize our hybrid IT environment, which consists of on-premises systems and Microsoft 365 services.
- Analyze and resolve issues: You’ll provide second-level support for servers, the cloud, the network, and clients, ensuring fast, sustainable solutions.
- Administer Microsoft platforms: You will manage Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, and other core IT services.
- Ensure system operations: You will plan and oversee updates, patch management, and the technical documentation of our IT environment.
- Further developing network and IT security: You will support the operation and further development of our network and security architecture, including firewall, VPN, and security solutions.
- Driving Digital Transformation: You will actively contribute to IT projects and support the further development of our cloud strategy as well as the automation of operational processes.
- Coordinating External Service Providers: You will collaborate with external partners and independently manage technical issues through to resolution.
Job Requirements
- Qualifications and Education: You have completed vocational training or a degree in IT and ideally have several years of experience in system administration or a comparable role.
- Microsoft and Cloud Knowledge: You have in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment, particularly in the areas of Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, Defender, and Identity Management.
- Virtualization: You have experience operating and further developing virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Networking and IT Security: You are familiar with modern network structures, firewall solutions, and VPN technologies, and ideally have experience with Fortinet/Fortigate.
- Work Style and Communication: You work in a structured, independent, and solution-oriented manner. Thanks to your strong communication skills and service-oriented approach, you are a valued point of contact for colleagues and external service providers.
- Language Skills: You have a good command of written and spoken German and English.
